Meet our Docs:
Meghan Long
Owner and Doctor of Physical Therapy
Meghan Long is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who transitioned away from insurance-driven care to better serve her patients. She founded Local Physical Therapy with the goal of providing one-on-one, personalized treatment tailored to each individual’s unique goals.
She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Saint Mary in 2019, where she was recognized with an award for academic excellence. Her passion for physical therapy and sports medicine stems from her own athletic background, including Division One soccer and competitive swimming. Her experience working with CU Sports Medicine’s Athletic Training department in Boulder reinforced her dedication to keeping athletes in peak condition—a passion that now extends to helping individuals of all backgrounds stay active and engaged in their communities.
Dr. Long specializes in creating customized treatment plans that integrate manual therapy techniques and corrective exercises, ensuring her clients receive the highest level of care to help them achieve their goals.
A third-generation Colorado native, Dr. Meghan has a deep love for the outdoors and enjoys running, skiing, and soaking up the sunshine. She is passionate about helping others return to the activities they love—pain-free.
Derrick Leeper
Doctor of Physical Therapy
Dr. Derrick Leeper earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Saint Mary in 2019. A native of Kingston, MO—a small, close-knit community northeast of Kansas City—he was raised on a cattle and row crop farm, where he developed a strong work ethic, integrity, and a deep appreciation for helping others. These values continue to shape his approach to patient care.
Derrick completed his undergraduate studies at Missouri Valley College, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science while competing as a collegiate baseball player. His firsthand experience with sports-related injuries and rehabilitation sparked his passion for physical therapy, particularly in return-to-sport recovery. His background in baseball offers him a unique perspective on movement patterns, injury prevention, and rehabilitation strategies tailored to athletes.
Dr. Leeper specializes in advanced mobilization, manipulation, and manual therapy techniques, dry needling, and sports medicine. Committed to professional growth, he continually refines his expertise in these treatment techniques to provide the highest quality care for his patients.
Beyond the clinic, Derrick enjoys an active lifestyle that includes dirt bike riding, golfing, hiking, snowboarding, and mountain biking. He is also a dedicated supporter of local sports teams and an advocate for the fitness community.
Dr. B
World’s Most Unqualified, Yet Most Loved, Physical Therapist
Dr. B is the resident morale booster and emotional support specialist at our Centennial Location. Despite his misleading title, Dr. B is, in fact, not a licensed medical professional—his credentials are entirely self-appointed. Nevertheless, he remains unchallenged in his field, mostly because no one has the heart to tell him otherwise.
He is an original staff member of Local Physical Therapy since our opening in 2021. Dr. B’s unique therapeutic approach includes enthusiastic tail wags, and an advanced technique known as “leaning against your leg until you forget why you were nervous in the first place.” He firmly believes that all injuries—regardless of severity—can be cured with two simple treatments: long walks and belly rubs.
When he is not “working,” Dr. B can be found lobbying for extra treats, or playing outside with his family and dog friends. His long-term goals include perfecting the art of sneaking onto therapy tables, acquiring unlimited pets, and continuing to be the best fake doctor the clinic has ever had.
